Manoominike Giizis- or the wild rice moon is upon us here at White Earth, and the lakes and rivers welcome our people to their waters, while our lands are abundant with one of the best corn harvests ever. We are thankful that we are able to continue our thousand year old way of life.
This informative book contains history and present day stories about how our food is the medicine and economic staple of the Anishinaabeg people.
The mission of the White Earth Land Recovery Project is to facilitate recovery of the original land base of the White Earth Indian Reservation, while preserving and restoring traditional practices of sound land stewardship, language fluency, community development, and strengthening our spiritual and cultural heritage.
