Eat well with the “food that grows on the water”. Minnesota Wild Rice grows naturally in the lakes in northern Minnesota, and is hand-harvested by tribal members using traditional methods. Our (real) organic Wild Rice is available in 2 convenient sizes.
At this time we are no longer able to sell the 5 pound bulk due to the severe supply shortage this year.
Wild rice basic cooking instructions:
(cooked rice will triple in volume)
Wash wild rice in 3 changes of hot tap water. In saucepan, heat 1 cup wild rice, 3 cups water and ½ to 1 teaspoon salt (optional). Bring to boil. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer until wild rice has absorbed the water, about 15-20 minutes. Wild rice should be tender but not “rolled back”.
